Paper size and pixels: choose a resolution
Translate a physical page size into image dimensions.
By Printer Paper Size Team•

Paper has physical dimensions. A raster image has pixel dimensions. To connect them, choose a pixel density in pixels per inch (PPI).
Calculate each side
Pixels = millimeters ÷ 25.4 × PPI
At 300 PPI, A4 is approximately 2480 × 3508 pixels when each side is rounded to a whole pixel. At 150 PPI, it is approximately 1240 × 1754 pixels. Changing the density changes the pixel count needed for the same physical sheet.
Printer DPI describes output dots and is a different concept from image PPI. Our pixel reference uses 300 pixels per inch. Confirm the intended resolution with your print provider.
