This page explains how the reference data and guides on printerpapersize.comare produced, checked and corrected.

Who writes the content

The site is written and maintained by Hafiz, who has around ten years of technical support experience in printer troubleshooting. The about page describes that background. Every published page carries a review date and a way to report a problem.

Sources we use

  • ISO 216 for A-series, B-series and C-series trimmed sizes
  • ISO 269 for C-series envelope designations
  • ANSI/ASME Y14.1 for North American drawing and office formats
  • JIS P 0138 for Japanese A and B series
  • DIN 476 for the historical origins of the A series
  • National standards and manufacturer media specifications for regional, photographic, label and envelope formats

Where sources disagree, we show the designation used by the standard and explain the regional variant instead of merging two different sheets into one entry. For example, ISO B5 (176 × 250 mm) and JIS B5 (182 × 257 mm) are listed separately.

How measurements are checked

  • Millimetre values are treated as the reference dimension.
  • Inch, centimetre, point, pica and pixel values are calculated from the millimetre value. One inch is exactly 25.4 mm; pixel values depend on the chosen DPI and are rounded to whole pixels.
  • Comparisons, aspect ratios and scaling factors are derived from the same dimension data used on the size pages, so a comparison page and a size page cannot drift apart.
  • Printing advice is limited to settings that can be verified in the operating system, driver or manufacturer documentation.

Review and updates

Reference pages are reviewed when a standard, printer family or driver convention changes, and at least once a year. Guides are reviewed when the software they describe changes. Pages show the last review date; a review does not always change the text if nothing needed correcting.

Corrections

Email printerpapersize@gmail.com with the page URL, the size designation and the measurement or statement you believe is wrong. Include the source you are comparing against if you have one. We check the report against the standard and either correct the page or explain why the published value is retained. Confirmed factual errors are corrected promptly, without requiring payment or a link.

Use of automation

Calculations, unit conversions and page templates are generated from the site's structured data. Drafting tools may help with language and structure, but a human reviews every page before publication and is responsible for the measurements and advice. We do not publish automatically scraped pages.

Advertising and independence

Advertising is sold by Google AdSense and is labelled. Advertisers have no input into editorial content. The site does not accept paid placement in size tables, comparisons or guides, and commercial relationships, if any are added, will be disclosed on the page where they appear.
