Portrait vs landscape: the same sheet, rotated
Choose an orientation that suits the shape of your content.

Portrait places the shorter edge across the top; landscape places the longer edge across the top. Rotating a sheet changes the width and height order, not the physical paper format.
Example: A4
Portrait A4 is 210 mm wide and 297 mm high. Landscape A4 is 297 mm wide and 210 mm high. A wide spreadsheet may fit more naturally in landscape, while a letter may read more easily in portrait.
Set orientation in the document as well as the print dialog. Check the preview for unexpected rotation, clipped columns or extra pages before printing.
